Macayla Upright

B.S., Role: Graduate Student (Ph. D. Student)

Macayla Upright earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Environmental Science from Catawba College in May of 2020. Her past research experience includes a Research Experience for Undergraduates position at the University of Kentucky in 2018 in the lab of Dr. David Westneat, where she studied the effect of food variability on the development of House Sparrow nestlings, and an undergraduate research project advised by Dr. Joseph Poston at Catawba College, which involved sequencing the DNA of a subspecies of the Yellow-throated Green Warbler. Macayla joined the Chatterjee Lab in the Fall of 2020 as a Ph.D. student.
